C1 turned 5 a couple weeks ago. 5 is huge! 5 years old is when I started to remember things. I can't remember very many things when I was 4, but I remember a bunch of things when I was 5. The things that happen in his life now he will remember. That is a lot of pressure to put on a parent. If I messed up something when he was 3 or 4, I could just say "Oh well, at least he wont remember that". Those days are over. At least I can still make some mistakes with C2.
