Elephant Ear at the Carnival

Our town is having a festival this weekend and we decided to take the boys up last night to ride some carnival rides, play some games, and eat some carnival food. They didn't have the Tilt a Whirl, which upset me. But the boys rode on some bunnies that go around an egg, some horses that go around a pole, and some geese that go around in a circle. C1 played a dart game and won a cheesy toy for both him and C2. Then I decided I wanted our sons to experience an elephant ear. $5 for an elephant ear... can we say rip-off? But what isn't a rip-off at a carnival? Anyway, C1 tasted a tiny tiny piece of the cinnamon, sugar, and doughy treat. Then he decided he didn't want any. I told him to try it again, and that it was really good. "Nope, I don't want any". Dude, I just spent $5 on this thing, I loved it when I was a kid, and you are going to eat it and love it! Nope. He didn't have another bite. And since C1 wouldn't eat it, C2 would have nothing to do with it either. I have never been so upset over an elephant ear before. July 2, 2008... the day I learned that my 2 boys don't like elephant ears. A date that will go down in infamy.
