Happy Birthday C1!
Sunday was C1's birthday. He turned 4 years old. We cannot believe our son has been with us for 4 years now. Time flies. He wanted to go to the zoo for his birthday, so we visited the Toledo Zoo for the second time in 8 days. We were a little worried about the heat, but there was a nice breeze and it wasn't too bad. After the zoo, we went to mamaw's and papaws for cake and ice cream. On our way hame we stopped by Nana and Papaw's. C1 opened his birthday cards and gifts and was very very happy! He received a remote control truck, a cool jigsaw puzzle, and some drawing paper with magic markers and magic paper too. He also got a bike. It was a busy day for all of us. Even C2 had a great day. C2 is really getting a personality and the 2 of them interacting is priceless. When I asked C1 what the favorite part of his birthday was, he said, "EVERYTHING". We are so lucky to have these boys in our lives. with C1, we have the terrible 2's out of the way, and the even worse 3's are history... what is next? The back-talking 4's?
For those of you who cant get enough cornhole in your backyard, I found an online cornhole game for you. Happy cornholing!
CornHole
Grab bean bags and take aim in this tailgatin' favorite.
Today was the annual Nathan's International July Fourth Hot Dog Eating Contest. The winner (Joey Chestnut) ate 66 hot dogs and buns in 12 minutes. Sixty six! That is more than 5 a minute and over 12,000 calories. Believe me, there have been times when I have eaten what some would consider a bit too much food at one sitting, but 66 hot dogs! That amazes me. Where in the world does a pile of food that big go to? The winner gets $10,000 and a very bad case of indigestion.
Ok everyone, I was a wee bit leary to post this entry for fear that my city boy image being tarnished, but it has to be done. The game of cornhole is sweeping the nation, and I got my first introduction to it last weekend. If you haven't heard of it, it is called cornhole, softshoe, corn toss, bean bag toss, or even baggo. It is basically a bean bag toss game played in your back yard. T and I had never heard of it up until a few days ago. We found out that we are very very good at cornhole-ing. This is not a joke. It is actually a game. If you do not believe me, click this link to
American Cornhole Association. I promise, this is not an adult only website. T and I are in the process of building our own cornhole set. And right now you may be laughing at me, but before long you will be e-mailing me for plans to build your own. I understand this is primarily a midwest thing, played in Ohio, Indiana, and Michigan. Oh, and there is a huge cornhole tournament at Soldier Field in Chicago later this month. Who knows, maybe you'll see T and I at the World Championship of Cornhole, in southern Ohio later this month. Now, when someone asks you to play cornhole this summer at your next bar-b-que or family reunion, you can think of me! Happy Cornholein'
